/New Hampshire State Police

KEENE, NH – An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal crash in Hinsdale in March 2023.

The crash occurred on March 28th, 2023 on Route 119 in Hinsdale near the Vermont State line. According to a news release at the time, police were in the area for an unrelated incident when an officer observed a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta traveling westbound towards Vermont at a high rate of speed and operating erratically. The vehicle then reversed direction and continued back eastbound, crossing the center line and colliding head on with a 1999 Jeep Wrangler.

The driver of the Jetta, identified as Dylan Morse, and a passenger, Teasha Kristolaitis, both 21 at the time, of Winchester, were taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Morse’s second passenger, identified as Richard Miner, 24, of Greenfield Massachusetts was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep, identified as Arthur Oefinger, then 59 of Hinsdale, was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

In an update on Thursday, New Hampshire State Police said Morse was arrested last week in connection with the crash. He was previously indicted by a grand jury in Cheshire County on charges of manslaughter, negligent homicide, and driving or operating after suspension resulting in death or serious personal injury. Morse was arraigned on Monday and is being held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections.
